US LBM Inventory Control Specialist in Dennis, Massachusetts

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for management & control of all inventory products at the location & ensures that all processes & procedures surrounding inventory control are properly executed. The Inventory Control Specialist works with the purchasing department to achieve optimal inventory levels at the location. This position will project future usage changes & understands their impact on the computer system. This position may incorporate quality control functions. What you will do Oversee the receiving process for all products at the location. Analyze & review all special-order vendor back orders as well as customer back orders that may be the result of poor inventory control practices. Oversee the purchasing of non-PO manufacturing products & non-stock items that will not be purchased by the Division Buyer or OSAs. Also reconcile AP variances for items purchased by the branch. Analyze all Value Add & other Trend force ships & takes appropriate steps to correct in the system. Work with appropriate RBC manager to set up & maintains all bills of material in Trend. Ensure that the Value-Add process is completed in a timely manner. Complete cycle counts as requested by the Operations Management & Location Manager. Notify Management of any inventory adjustment due to damage, short shipment, returns or for any other reason. Coordinate with Management any inventory adjustments needed due to cycle counts. Run the bi-annual fiscal inventory for the location. Notify Management of new product code set-ups. Work with any vendor that has been established to provide the company with a location \"Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).\" Maintain a working knowledge of all products manufactured in store & how they are assembled. Work with Location Manager & Purchasing department to eliminate non-moving inventory. Communicate with Management on all Cycle Count variances to find root cause of problems & to keep the problem from reoccurring. Work with Supplier Reps &/or Division Purchasing to manage damaged & defective products to obtain most value for the company. Identify & manage surplus & obsolete inventory. Proactively work to reduce & manage this inventory. Understands the impact of slow-moving inventory on the procurement process. Oversee Order Entry process to insure that orders are entered to best impact inventory usage such as managing & overseeing the use of Future Orders for maximum advantage. Work with Management to achieve the best optimized inventory. Project future usage change & understands their impact on the system. Inspect output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions & examining functionality Check that the assembly or production line adheres to standards & procedures & complying with legal requirements. Review blueprints & specifications to compare to produced goods. Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works & wastes & inputting data into quality database. Comply with Company?s attendance policy by maintaining regular & predictable attendance. Education Qualifications High School Diploma required. Experience Qualifications 1-3 years operational staff position required. Skills & Abilities Interpersonal communication, writing skills, & highly organized. Microsoft Office. Other inventory control/procurement procedures a plus.
