Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) ADC Security team is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Planning, Resource & Reporting Manager. The candidate is expected to have acute attention to detail and excellent written/verbal communication skills along with a preferred background and experience in business management, finance or vendor/procurement management. You will oversee the program’s demand planning, procurement, recruiting, vendor and contract management, and associated resource performance metrics.

You will track and manage resources across a geographically dispersed and global program by owning program metrics. You will lead data collection, build and refine metrics to measure business operations, perform analysis to identify the root causes to opportunities within the business, and translate this data into meaningful insights. You will drive overall program reporting and present these outcomes to senior leadership during routine reviews of the business and program updates. You will identify gaps in resource supply and execute all aspects of working with internal and external stakeholders including AWS procurement, finance and external vendors making sure each region has the resources they need, and are aligned to the supply/demand plan(s) that are compliant with our customers’ policies and procedures.

To achieve this, you will work closely with various stakeholders across the Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) network to understand their use of labor to complete their projects and define the correct support to meet their needs. You will then build and deliver a consensus, demand support, plan. This plan will consider seasonality, on-site variables, operations, expansion and new build plans. Critical to this effort is developing new forecasting tools and scalable processes to simplify global expansion complexities, improve demand forecast accuracy, and drive long-term execution strategies.

  • Engage with internal customers to collaborate on forecasting, ensuring that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts through both formalized and ad hoc processes and reporting.

  • Conduct due diligence on all demand to ensure efficient supply utilization and availability.

  • Liaise across the finance/procurement/legal communities to coordinate and deliver complex and interconnected series of deliverables including vendor contracts, CAR, WO, PO, approvals, accounts, forecasting and budgeting.

  • Monitor and enhance metrics to measure, control, and benchmark procurement processes, including the creation of recurring metrics reviews to drive improvements in procurement operations.

  • Monitor and enhance existing controls for budget monitoring, vendor accounts, and approvals.

  • Own vendor relationship management, escort management policies and ensure all activities are in-line with AWS guidelines and policies.

  • Develop and implement metrics model to track and monitor performance in quality, delivery, capacity, cost, and safety.

  • Facilitate suppliers’ understanding of Amazon global policies, budget and cost targets, service and quality expectations.

  • Report, analyze, and follow up on metrics and reporting for all program activities.

  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and narratives that provide visibility to key business and financial metrics.

  • Assist in the preparation of business reviews as the overall document owner.

  • Communicating data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex issues clearly.

  • Assist in the building of our financial projections tied to our Long-Range Strategic Plan and Operating Plans.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules

  • Experience working cross functionally with non-tech teams

  • Academic degree with a focus on Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Mathematics/Engineering or MBA

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree

  • 3+ years of vendor management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
