Job Description

The Department of Management (DOM), Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking an Information Technology Administrator 2 - Mainframe Supervisorto join our team!

In this critical role, you will lead the daily operations of our dedicated team of developers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services aligned with DOM’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership - Supervise and support a diverse range of IT professionals, fostering a culture of integrity, customer service, and continuous improvement.

  • Performance Management - Conduct timely performance evaluations, set achievable goals, and provide ongoing guidance and training to promote professional growth.

  • Staff Development - Manage hiring, onboarding, and training processes for new staff, ensuring the team possesses the skills necessary to meet agency needs.

  • Operational Efficiency - Implement best practices and procedures to enhance coordination among staff, improve service delivery, and align with DOM DoIT’s strategic objectives.

  • Project Management - Oversee resource allocation, project timelines, and budgets, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of IT services.

  • Stakeholder Engagement - Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, including agency staff, analysts, and vendor partners.

  • Compliance and Security - Ensure adherence to federal, state, and DOM DoIT data security standards and policies.

  • Innovative Solutions - Continuously seek opportunities for process re-engineering and cost-effective service delivery, including Mainframe modernization efforts.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to six years of full-time professional work in information technology systems management which included two years of management experience in information technology;

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting the equivalent of six months of full time work experience in information technology for one year of the required education to a maximum substitution of two years;

OR

substitution of one year (thirty semester of equivalent hours) of graduate level course work in Computer Science or Management Information Systems for one year of the required work experience to a maximum substitution of one year;

OR

employees withcurrentcontinuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to thirty months of full time work as an Information Technology Specialist 4;

OR

employees withcurrentcontinuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months of full time work as an Information Technology Specialist 5;

OR

employees withcurrentcontinuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to one-year full time work as an Information Technology Administrator 1.
