Oracle Principal Consultant – Cerner Patient Accounting in Des Moines, Iowa
Job Description
As a Principal Consultant specializing in Cerner Patient Accounting, you will leverage your expertise in healthcare technology and business processes to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients. You will consult on service line workflows, drive solution design, and lead client interactions to ensure the successful implementation of Oracle and Cerner technologies that meet customer needs. You will demonstrate independent judgment in complex situations, mitigate risks, and ensure best practices are followed throughout the engagement.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Lead client engagements by providing guidance on service line workflow, interdependencies, and design decisions.
Deliver functional and technical solutions for moderately complex projects, ensuring alignment with client workflow requirements.
Provide direction to clients, offering recommendations for system configuration and process improvements.
Lead internal team initiatives, ensuring successful execution of projects within scope, timeline, and budget.
Act as a trusted advisor to client management, fostering strong relationships and providing expertise on solution design, risks, and implementation strategies.
Drive business development efforts, participating in proposal development and client meetings to grow the practice.
Ensure the successful execution of process improvement strategies, addressing client-specific needs and workflow optimizations.
Actively participate in training and mentoring junior consultants, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team capabilities.
Facilitate and lead client meetings, ensuring clear communication, decision-making, and issue resolution.
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience in healthcare IT consulting or related fields, including at least 2 years in a client-facing consulting role.
Strong expertise in healthcare information technology (HCIT), particularly in Cerner or related systems.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Proven ability to independently manage projects and provide high-quality deliverables.
Experience in solution design, configuration, and implementation for moderately complex IT projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal teams.
Additional Expectations:

Flexibility to work additional or irregular hours as necessary.
Adhere to corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of corporate and client assets.
Ability to work independently, with excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and maintain client satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in healthcare IT consulting, HCIT support, or a related client-facing role.
Experience with Oracle or Cerner Patient Accounting solutions and healthcare workflows.
Ability to drive process improvement and change management in client organizations.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $71,200 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
