Job Description

This position supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) with a focus on application performance in relationship to network design and configuration. The role combines (i) understanding of networking at the protocol level, (ii) programming skills, and (iii) skill in benchmarking and analyzing the performance of extreme-scale distributed computing systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to enable engineers to carry out performance benchmarking.

• Carry out systematic performance studies on RDMA backed clusters with focus on network performance and optimization of network configuration.

• Troubleshoot performance problems on RDMA clusters.

• Perform validation of network performance of RDMA clusters in various contexts.

• Document new tools and procedures to a high standard.

• Write reports and whitepapers to disseminate findings of performance studies.

• Mentor junior engineers.

• Participate in network solution and architecture design process and contribute to the roadmaps development.

• Participate in operational rotations as either primary or secondary.

Qualifications :

• BS or MS degree in CS or related engineering or science field with 5+ years of relevant experience

• Experience working on large-scale distributed systems. Experience with benchmarking and characterizing or optimizing performance of parallel workloads on clusters preferred.

• Experience with RDMA Networking i.e. RoCE or Infiniband.

• Experience with typical elements of the AI/HPC software stack such as job schedulers, parallel file systems, or ML frameworks.

• Experience troubleshooting performance problems on clusters.

• Experience building ML models.

• Experience architecting or developing solutions on a public cloud platform.

• Experience with scripting or automation – Python preferred but must demonstrate expertise in scripting or compiled language.

• Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Capable of working under limited supervision.

• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Excellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
