EFCO is seeking to fulfill a Welding Engineer position to e nsure safety, quality, and efficiency in the welding process. Company authority on welding related quality issues.

Responsibilities

Quality: Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS's), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR's), and Welder Performance Qualification Records in accordance with industry standards (AWS, ASME, etc) . Implement improvements to the current welding processes, equipment and tooling/fixturing to optimize safety, quality, and efficiency. Integrate/support robotic welding solution where applicable. Offer guidance and assist with proper joint design, welder access, weld distortion or potential defects. Conduct Engineering Drawing Reviews as a part of the Manufacturing Review Team, recommend changes to improve the welding process. (30-40%)

Training: Develop training programs and support materials for welding operators as well as non-welding team members. Train Quality Assurance personnel in the proper inspection of welds. Maintain personal education to stay up to date with Welding Industry technology, best practices and safety standards. (30-40%)

Safety: Ensure all safety regulations are followed. Fix potential safety hazards. Follow all company safety rules and applicable regulatory requirements in the course of performing duties Report or correct immediately all equipment malfunctions, unsafe equipment and acts, material revisions and product deviations to supervisor. (15-20%)

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or other similar technical discipline, or an equivalent of demonstrated Career-Related Experience. In-depth knowledge of GMAW welding process, metallurgy and welding codes (AWS D1.1, AWS D14.3) Experience with robotic welding systems including specification/implementation, on-line and off-line programming. Relevant American Welding Society certifications, ie: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) or the ability to
