Distinguishing Features of the Class
The principal function of an employee in this class is to maintain and support the systems and processes of the Wastewater Treatment Facility (WRF). The work is performed under the direct supervision of an assigned supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all customers, City employees, business and community organizations and the public.
Acceptable Experience and Training
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business or related field; and
Three (3) years of directly related experience with wastewater administration and application software; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Required Special Qualifications
- Candidates for positions in this class must pass a post-employment offer background check, physical examination, and drug screen.
Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)
Maintains and quality controls data for complex inventory control, equipment warranty, equipment parts list, and operation & maintenance manual(s) records for the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Operates a variety of computer applications, including but not limited to MS Office Suite and related departmental software programs.
Collects data and submits reports for monthly interdepartmental billing.
Develops reports in planning preventive maintenance tasks related to the WRF Plant and WRA Pump Station equipment.
Participates in internal user groups to exchange new information and perspectives on work tasks.
Analyzes departmental budget requests and makes recommendations based on the results.
Gathers and interprets data of administrative and operational reports.
Provides training and demonstrations on how to perform certain work tasks for new employees in the same or similar job classifications.
Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.
Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on the principles, practices and new developments in assigned work areas.
Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.
Performs a variety of functions related to the WRA HxGen Capital Project Tracking & Implementation Business Process.
Updates preventative maintenance task plans as required and requested by Maintenance Supervisors.
Checks out and receives materials, retrieves, reshelves and reorganizes WRA Maintenance library materials throughout the library.
Processes and mends library operation and maintenance manual materials and equipment warranties for new equipment and equipment no longer in service.
Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
