Job Title: Forklift Mechanic
Job Description
The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for analyzing and diagnosing equipment problems and breakdowns, recommending and implementing the correct service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance issues. This role involves performing scheduled equipment maintenance, documenting each service call, and adhering to all safety procedures. Additionally, the Forklift Mechanic will maintain the company service vehicles and ensure they are clean, orderly, and hazard-free.
Responsibilities
Analyze and diagnose equipment problems and breakdowns.
Recommend and implement the correct service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance issues.
Perform scheduled equipment maintenance following company procedures and policies.
Document each service call and provide necessary paperwork.
Observe all safety procedures and ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste.
Maintain company service vehicles, including performing regular maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
Secure and maintain service and parts inventory in the company service vehicle.
Provide well-maintained personal tools required for effective equipment service duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
Experience with repairing forklifts.
Technical or mechanical training/certifications preferred.
Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
Above average communication skills.
Ability to understand service and training manuals, interpret schematics, and use electrical diagnostic instruments.
Ability to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
