GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Administrative Fellowship at Henry Ford Health System is a one-year post graduate fellowship experience designed to enhance the development of future healthcare leaders. The fellowship program provides an outstanding opportunity for Master's prepared individuals to learn from experienced, executive-level preceptors and to work in various areas of a vertically integrated health system. The fellowship compromises four areas of focus within Henry Ford Health System: Henry Ford Hospital & Health Network, Henry Ford Medical Group, Health Alliance Plan & Henry Ford Community Hospitals. The cornerstone of the fellowship is project-based learning. With the guidance of a preceptor, fellows participate in a range of projects tailored to address individual areas of interest and organizational needs. Fellows also have the opportunity to interact with senior executives through direct participation in management activities including board meetings, executive staff meetings, retreats, community and philanthropic events, ongoing area and system projects, and other venues at the local, state, regional, and national levels.

Over the course of the year, fellows gain exposure to all areas of the Henry Ford Health System including:

  • Corporate leadership, culture, governance, and strategy development.

  • Managed care delivery and insurance entities.

  • Tertiary, community, and specialty hospitals.

  • Our network of more than 25 ambulatory care centers.

  • 1,000-member medical group, comprised of physicians and researchers.

  • Cutting edge research and academic activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Master's degree is required for acceptance into the administrative fellowship program; preferably in health administration, public health, business administration, or a related discipline.

  • One year of work experience is required.

  • Preferred candidates will have 1-2 years of healthcare work experience.
