Henry Ford Health System Business Intelligence Analyst in Detroit, Michigan

Responsible for gathering data, generating reports, and providing actionable interpretation of information to customers; work with and present information to customers at all levels, including executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external oversight/regulatory bodies; assist in developing comprehensive routine and ad-hoc reports; implement new and improved reporting processes to support strategic goals and key operations; use data insights to help business leaders make actionable decisions; work collaboratively with leaders and senior team members to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact on business decisions; consult, design metrics and reports, and build solutions as needed; documents process flows and ensures they are monitored for accuracy and quality; design and run queries, extracts, and analyses on raw data elements from system-wide clinical laboratory data using various data analysis tools and techniques; cleanse and normalize data to populate data lakes; work with leadership to harmonize and standardize data analytic platforms; collaborate with leadership, external vendors, and analysts to develop and maintain data models and information sources, and to ensure data accessibility through data lakes and other data aggregation methods; utilize and apply knowledge of PowerShell, Docker, R, Power BI, Python, SQL, Tableau, SSIS, Pentaho Data Integration, Crystal Report, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Azure, MS SQL Server, Cache database, and Sybase database to perform assigned duties; maintain report production output, documents progress, and identify and appraise relevant data fields in coordination with the pathology informatics team and pathology operations; develop visualizations to close the gaps of care on laboratory analytes related to population health targets; leverage tools and methodologies for data analysis and extraction from Epic EMR data, including integration with laboratory data, and proprietary line data, in support of system public health initiatives; develop dashboards and reports to support workflow process improvement and defect reduction, and to improve work efficiency and quality for all laboratory divisions; generate suggestions for improving work efficiency and promoting quality; apply statistical concepts and relays findings, resulting in actionable information; and serve as a liaison between Analytics and Market/Community business leaders.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree).

Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Software Developer, as a Business Solutions Developer, as a Data Analyst, as an IT Specialist, or in a related occupation.

Other Requirements: Experience must include use two (2) years of all the following: R, Python, SQL, Tableau, SSIS, Pentaho Data Integration, PostgreSQL, PowerShell and MS SQL Server.

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
