Controller

Our manufacturing client, located in Detroit, MI, is looking for a Controller to join their team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation working closely with external auditors, can drive inventory control best practices and has proven leadership skills.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Manage and oversee corporate accounting activities.

• Work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and improve financial processes.

• Implement and monitor inventory controls to maintain accurate records.

• Handle intercompany transactions and reconcile accounts.

• Prepare and present financial reports in accordance with US GAAP.

• Maintain accounting controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage inventory reserves and assess their adequacy.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets:

• In-depth understanding of US GAAP (United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• Familiarity with External Audit processes, requirements and audit procedures.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Accounting practices.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective Accounting Control systems.

• Ability to effectively coach and develop teams, and effectively collaborate with key stakeholders

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent
