Robert Half Corporate Accounting Manager in Detroit, Michigan

Description

We are in search of a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This role involves overseeing the corporate accounting functions, including managing the general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, and supporting an ERP conversion to NetSuite.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the management of corporate accounting functions, including general ledger activities, and preparation of financial statements

• Supervise balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards

• Mentor and manage a team of accountants, fostering a high-performing team environment

• Review and prepare journal entries ensuring adherence to accounting policies and proper documentation

• Collaborate with external auditors to support audit processes, provide required documentation, and address any audit findings

• Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

• Assist in the ERP conversion to NetSuite, facilitating system setup, data migration, and process integration

• Manage special projects and ad hoc financial reporting as needed.

Requirements

• Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate accounting role

• Proven ability to prepare financial statements accurately

• Extensive experience in recording and maintaining journal entries

• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with general ledger functions

• Proficiency in using NetSuite accounting software

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with other departments

• Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail

• Leadership skills to manage and guide a team of accountants

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
