Plan, direct, or coordinate activities and resources concerned with project scheduling, design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, and parts and service support of systems according to project goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
Maintain a consistent and well-organized program to manage all projects from initiation through planning, execution, and closure stages.
Control costs, schedule compliance, maximize profitability, and satisfy customers for all assigned projects.
Provide adequate status report generation and documentation package creation to support both internal and external requirements.
Direct the team working on specific project tasks including Project Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, CAD Designers, and Video Technicians.
Qualify deliverables against contract requirements and construct detailed WBS based project schedule.
Establish project budget and generate Project, Risk, Quality, and Communications Plans for each project.
Coordinate design efforts, site visits, submittals, material ordering, manufacturing releases, testing, shipments, and installation services.
Review submittal and manufacturing drawings and issue production travelers to the shop.
Timely data entry and upkeep of job details in the ERP system.
Generate progress reports per internal and external requirements.
Monitor and control all project-related costs/expenses to meet or come in under the established project budget.
Approve and initiate invoice releases according to project schedule and contract milestones.
Schedule and oversee factory and site acceptance testing schedules, procedures, and customer signoff.
Maintain storage and organization of electronic and hard copy documentation and ensure compliance and correctness of project binders.
Schedule and satisfy travel activities as required by the project.
Ensure full compliance with company and customer quality management requirements.
Continuously monitor and improve project management processes utilizing the most recent standards and guidelines.
Support Estimation group quoting and Sales department technical requirements.
Analyze project performance and determine future areas for improvement, design changes, and cost reductions.
Work with Operations to resolve manufacturing concerns.
Support research and development for all electrical, electronic, and mechanical design requirements.
Essential Skills
Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent education or experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Project, Word, and Excel.
Basic understanding of project management practices and the ability to administer a project budget.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Advanced problem-solving skills.
Design drawing, specification, and schematic reading skills.
Knowledge of fundamentals of corporate finance.
Basic understanding of general construction practices.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering principles.
Willingness to travel.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms for extended periods.
Use of hands to manipulate and lift items weighing 50 lbs or less on an occasional basis.
Visual, auditory, and speaking skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
ERP database applications, particularly ERP database 6.n and 8.n by Epicor.
Project Management and/or certification for Project Management according to PMBOK standards.
Contract language and technical writing skills.
Knowledge of processes, methods, and technologies involved in fabrication and basic understanding of design methods for manufacturability.
General understanding of industrial manufacturing, inventory, and quality processes.
Basic skill level in AutoCAD.
Knowledge of ergonomic design for command and control applications, utility control room applications, or rail transit signal control.
Work Environment
Hybrid work environment with 2-3 days in the office once established.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $43.00/hr.
