INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF:

Facilities Maintenance Worker

SALARY

$16.69 - $26.68 Hourly

CLOSING DATE:10/31/2024

This position participates in the preventative and responsive maintenance of city facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a standard senior-high school or GED equivalent, as recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and Six (6) months recent experience in HVAC preventive maintenance, electrical or plumbing maintenance and/or repair; and Six (6) months recent experience using word processing software (ex. Microsoft Word).

OR

Graduation from an accredited* College, University, or Vocational High School Program with a degree or certification in Electrical Theory/Technology, HVAC, or closely related field. Six (6) months recent experience using word processing software (ex. Microsoft Word). Six (6) months recent experience using software to enter labor and materials for work orders (ex. Central Square) preferred.

*An accredited agency is recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Condition of Employment/Promotion/Demotion/Transfer Employees are required to complete Certification of Understanding and Condition of Employment /Promotion/Demotion/Transfer form.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. (PBA 09/10/01)

An applicant for this position is subject to various background investigations up to and including a criminal, credit, past employment, and reference checks.

Employees are required submit to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with the City of Dothan policy, which includes pre-employment and random tests for the duration of employment in this position. (PBA 08/13/12)

Must meet the City of Dothan's employment physical standards, which include drug/alcohol testing.
