Citigroup Tax Intermediate Analyst (Hybrid) in Dublin, Ireland

What you will do:

  • Execute functions from the Tax Information Reporting process including but not limited to, preparation and filing of information reporting forms, keeping files up to date with the newest IRS regulations

  • Research and respond to client inquiries

  • Act as a tax reporting specialist (and potentially team lead) to execute operational and project initiatives

  • Act as an internally and externally recognized subject matter expert

  • Develop best practices and implement appropriate procedures and controls to ensure consistent compliance with tax reporting requirements for FATCA, and/or CRS requirements

  • Support FRSS Service Delivery model with all stakeholders

  • Support audits by tax authorities and Internal Audit

  • Contribute towards departmental requirement to adhere to strict regulatory and compliance requirements per tax authority and Citi policy

  • Reviews and update written tax policies and procedures, research and respond to inquiries from operational areas

  • Staying abreast with the newest IRS regulations in the tax information reporting field.

What we'll need from you:

  • Education - Bachelors (BA) required

  • Relevant experience required

  • Basic understanding of U.S. tax information reporting rules applicable to U.S. Persons and nonresident aliens

  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of IRS series 1099 and 1042-s forms; Forms 1042 and 945

  • Experience in tax research and reconciliations

  • Project Management experience preferred, and strong organizational skills required

  • This location will be at our Dublin, Ireland office and is eligible for hybrid work, 3 days in the office per week is required

Critical Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills to drive engagement and close interactions with key stakeholders. Provide basic advisory services for external and internal clients

  • Ability to examine processes and procedures, experience with Process Reengineering. Redesign and process automation experience is preferred

  • Ability to act as a change agent for organizational and product transformational initiatives

  • Well versed in standard desktop technology with advanced Excel skills. Adobe Acrobat DC and Visio experience preferred

  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal customers and senior management

  • Liaison with Corporate Tax for complex tax advisory inquiries and policy requirements
