Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and plant equipment. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving mechanical issues, fabricating repair parts, and performing preventive and predictive maintenance. This role requires strict adherence to safety and cleanliness standards while documenting maintenance activities accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Fabricate needed repair parts and other items using maintenance shop machinery and equipment.

  • Ensure reliable operation of machinery and plant equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements as directed by management, work order instructions, manufacturer instructions, and technical manuals.

  • Assist the Maintenance Management staff in developing and improving current preventive maintenance instructions and practices.

  • Understand and adhere to the principles of predictive maintenance programs, and assist in the development and improvement of these programs.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all directives, procedures, rules, and regulations related to personal safety, manufacturing practices, and product protection.

  • Properly complete maintenance records to document the maintenance process, including Work Orders, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry Permits, Clean Tags, High Care Intervention forms, and Inventory use sheets. Use computerized records to document maintenance activities.

  • Assist maintenance management staff in maintaining adequate spare equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing requests, and identifying shortages.

  • Follow all food safety procedures and practices to promote our food safety culture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-year technical certificate and 2 or more years of verifiable experience.

  • 2-year technical degree in an industrial maintenance or engineering field.

  • 3 or more years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience.

  • Advanced Apprentice with 3 or more years and Journeyman level experience.

Work Environment

This position operates on the 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM. The work environment includes maintaining compliance with safety standards and ensuring cleanliness. Technologies and equipment used include maintenance shop machinery, precision measuring instruments, and computerized record-keeping systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
