Job Summary:
The Cirrus Research & Development (R&D) team is tasked with the development of new components and technologies intended for evaluation on next generation aircraft. The primary responsibility of the Research & Development (R&D) Tooling and Finishing Technician will be to assemble and install parts and systems as well as fabricate components using varied processes and methods. This role requires constant learning of new methods and the application of new industry technologies. The individual must be self-motivated, have a high degree of integrity, strong verbal skills, and be comfortable working with a highly diverse cross functional team.
This position comes with a $2,000 sign-on bonus!
Essential Duties:
Possess a broad skillset used to assemble precision aircraft parts
Able to perform light primer application, surface filler preparation and shaping, familiar with single stage and base/clear application, sanding and buffing, adding vinyl striping and interior assembly/disassembly.
Work from mental concepts, verbal instructions, hand-sketches, or blueprints
Possess strong creative mind and extreme attention to detail
Envision the full process of the build – layout through installation
Safely use hand and power tools – HVLP paint guns, grit blast booth, spray/brush adhesives and small general tools.
Collaborate with a wide audience to develop technologies and designs
Possess a solid understanding of general airplane architecture including airframe, powerplant, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
This position may be tasked with leading a small diverse group of technicians
