Gopher Resource LLC Accounts Payable Representative in Eagan, Minnesota
Description Position Overview: The Accounts Payable Representative will handle the payment of bills for various companies owned by Gopher Resource, LLC, according to standard accounting practices. This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller and scheduled to work Monday-Friday primarily remote (Wednesdays in office). Critical Success Criteria: Process vendor invoices in a timely manner, while ensuring that invoices are from legitimate vendors and for the correct amounts, in order to protect company assets. Process vendor payments accurately and on a timely basis to ensure only legitimate vendors are paid, positive vendor relationships are maintained, and cash flow is appropriately managed. Organize and maintain A/P repository to guarantee all documentation is appropriately labeled and filed and can easily be found when needed. Other Responsibilities: Review, match, (invoice, purchase order, packing slip) and process all vendor A/P invoices Review and process A/P check requests Code all purchases to ensure proper general ledger accounts and project costs Process, print, and distribute A/P checks Process and export all ACH electronic payments for A/P and front office/settlements Review all purchases for applicable sales tax Handle inquiries from vendors Maintain A/P system records and paid files Verify accuracy of scanned A/P documents in A/P repository Prepare and distribute 1099, 1098, 1096, and other related tax forms Close A/P on a monthly basis, which includes preparing the monthly accrual Prepare all reconciliation and year-end work papers pertaining to A/P, including pulling files for review Perform routine duties such as typing, data entry, and filing Research A/P records for inquiries from the maintenance department or any others who do not have access to the records Sit on and participate in meetings, teams, and training seminars Other duties and projects as assigned Requirements: High School Diploma minimally required plus 4 years of previous professional accounting experience OR Associate's Degree in Accounting from accredited school plus 2 years of professional accounting experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited College or University Proficient in math and reading Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills Strong customer centricity and courteous communication with vendors and internal employees Highly self-motivated and directed; ability to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple disciplines concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable, and change priorities and direction as needed, allowing for optimum effectiveness Capacity to work independently as well as within a team-oriented, collaborative environment Progressive drive to seek opportunities in support of continuous improvement Previous experience using MS Office applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel Previous experience using similar systems such as Navision, Laserfiche, and Ancora preferred, but not required Compensation Information: Salary Range: $55,348 to $85,660. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives. The market rate for the role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
