Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

Our Client manufactures ergonomic ladders designed to improve the safety of fleet vehicles. This position involves moving products around the warehouse and in the shipping and receiving department using sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks. The role includes keeping production areas stocked and preparing finished products for shipping. The position will transition from using paper pick sheets to an RF Scanner system for order picking smaller parts.

Responsibilities

  • Move products around the warehouse and shipping/receiving department using forklifts and pallet jacks.

  • Keep production areas stocked and move finished products for shipping.

  • Use paper pick sheets and transition to RF Scanner system for order picking.

  • Unload truckloads of materials and organize them in the receiving area, tagging appropriately.

  • Assist machine operators by delivering specified materials to keep machines running.

  • Receive and act on calls from supervisors to locate and deliver materials to the correct machines.

  • Utilize forklifts to bring down pallets, order pick needed items, build pallets, and deliver them to the assembly area.

  • Assist the shipping department as needed.

  • Perform cycle counts during downtime.

Essential Skills

  • Material handling experience

  • Order picking experience

  • Forklift operation (sit-down or stand-up)

  • Shipping and receiving experience

  • Proficiency with computers

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with RF Scanner systems

  • Inventory management experience

  • General labor skills

  • Experience with loading and pallet jacks

Work Environment

The facility is brand new and opened within the past five years. It is not temperature controlled and can get hot during the summer.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
