Position Summary

Pay rate: $19.58 - $20.61 upon meeting probationary period requirements. Regular, in-person attendance is required to meet business and customer needs.

This position is responsible for managing supply orders, inventory, and deliveries across campus, as well as performing equipment maintenance, cleaning, and laundry duties. Additionally, the role includes assisting with pest control and animal management and handling various other campus facility tasks.

Job responsibilities are as follows:

30%: Order supplies and pick up and deliver supplies to appropriate buildings on campus. Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records of all available stock.

25%: Perform laundry duties that consist of washing, drying, bagging, pick up, and delivery of custodial laundry.

25%: Refurbish, repair, and occasional painting of equipment, and install dispensers throughout the campus. Perform cleaning of satellite buildings: CATA stations, Welcome Center, Observatory, Pavilion. Assist in operation of carpet truck.

10%: Assist with non-licensed pest control duties including setting/removing mouse traps. Trap and euthanize nuisance animals. Unlock/lock doors throughout campus when needed

10%: Correspondence through email, training, meetings, and professional development.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator's license at the time of hire.

  • Possession or attainment of MSU Forklift operator's permit prior to completion of applicable probation or trial period.

  • Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required.

  • Must drive University vehicle to perform job duties of this classification.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday: 12:00PM - 8:30PM. May be required to work after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
