Position Summary
(40%) Curriculum/Program Development and Implementation
Provide strategic leadership for the Career Development Office by setting goals and plans consistent with the strategic goals and mission of the College of Social Science and MSU
Design and manage career development programs tailored to Social Science students
Implement cutting-edge technology and tools to enhance career services delivery
Develop and maintain a comprehensive internship program
Partner with faculty to integrate career readiness into the curriculum.
Supervise Career Development Office staff including curriculum development specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Use data to continuously improve career center services and programs
Collaborate with other college and university departments to support student success initiatives
Develop career readiness courses for specialized populations
(30%) Outreach/Employer Relations and Partnerships
Cultivate relationships with employers, particularly those interested in Social Science graduates
Collaborate with alumni/employer relations to leverage graduate networks for student opportunities
Strategically direct and oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of career engagement events, networking initiatives, and on-campus recruiting programs.
Present the career center and university to external stakeholders at professional associations and conferences
(20%) Admin
Oversee the budget of Career Development Office, ensuring efficient use of resources
Prepare comprehensive reports for college and university leadership and accreditation purposes
Track and analyze post-graduation outcomes and employment trends
10% Teach
Teach career readiness courses for specialized populations

Required Degree
Masters -counseling, student affairs, or a related field
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in counseling, student affairs, or a related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in career services, preferably in a liberal arts or higher education setting.
Desired Qualifications
Strong understanding of career development theories and their application to social science students.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Proficiency in career services technology and social media platforms.
