We are seeking a Systems Administrator - Database & Applications to join our team on-site in either our Eden Prairie, MN, Des Moines, IA, or Fitchburg, WI Data Centers. This role is not remote. This is a day shift position working 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday with on-call rotations.
What you'll do:
The Systems Administrator-Database & Applications is responsible for the supporting customer technology services and the internal systems that enable customer service delivery. The role will work with departmental peers, partner with other US Signal technology teams, and work directly with customers to provide managed support.
The position serves as an escalation tier for the Service Desk and managing progressive escalations up technical engineering teams. The position will work to address the team queue of incoming incidents and service requests, working with leadership to ensure tickets are addressed in accordance with SLA commitments. Managed support responsibilities include response and initial diagnosis of incidents, providing exceptional customer service, planning and executing risk changes, system and application patching, and some project work.
Following established standards, this role is responsible for providing proactive and reactive support across a wide spectrum of managed technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Dynamics, Azure Database, Oracle EBS, Baan, Informix, and AS400. A Systems Administrator-Database & Applications will have knowledge in one or more of these technology areas and, using US Signal, vendor, and/or third-party resources, will continuously evolve skillset to expand technical capabilities in alignment with the managed service product portfolio.
Functions/Responsibilities:
Initial triage of incidents, service requests, and performing project tasks. Working items to resolution, documenting the work completed or escalating to engineering teams.
Execution of scheduled support activities and implementing changes such as version patching/updates, database refreshes, and code promotions to ensure system configuration aligns with OneNeck and vendor standards and best practices.
Develop or update documentation related to team processes, knowledge articles for customer or internal system support, and standard operating procedures.
Identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement, working toward developing and deploying temporary and permanent fixes to bring the problems to resolution, or improvements to fruition.

Competencies:
Achieve CJIS certification within introductory period of employment
Certifications in the technologies being supported are preferred
Knowledge of automation, scripting, or programming languages.
Knowledge of public cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
ITIL foundational certification preferred
Advanced analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
Results and execution oriented, self-motivated
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and quality
Sound judgment and decision-making skills
Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.
Education:
Associate degree (or higher) or 2+ years professional work experience required.
Experience:
Experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office platform, Visio, and scripting.

Required/Preferred Certification(s):
Azure, Microsoft, or Azure Database Administrator Associate preferred
