Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, personable, and very organized Project Manager for our Assessment and Permitting (A&P) team within our Environmental Services Business Centre. This position will provide support to all stages of a project’s lifecycle including assessment, permitting and approval requirements, construction support, and post-construction support. Working with our biological, physical sciences, human environment, and engineering teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and contributing to environmental assessments and permitting activities for oil and gas, and linear disturbance related projects. The ideal candidate for this position is one that is organized, self-motivated, and an effective communicator, who thrives working in a team environment with a drive to support clients and internal teams in finding solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities
Promote a positive Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) culture in the team and across the organization.
Manage a portfolio of projects that with overlapping schedules.
Coordinate and track assignments, scopes, schedules, budgets and deliverables.
Lead or support business development activities, including proposals (budget development and proposal writing) and relationship building with existing and prospective clients.
Lead a team of environmental professionals in the office and field and facilitate collaboration to meet schedules.
Assess habitat condition within the natural environment and coordinate field surveys.
Coordinate with other biological disciplines to prepare deliverables.
Work jointly with clients to communicate findings and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
Support and encourage technical training.
Qualifications

Proven experience and ability to lead a diverse group of individuals in a fast-paced dynamic work environment

Possess strong conflict resolution and communication skills
Previous project management experience is desirable
Understanding and applied knowledge working under provincial and federal legislation (e.g., Water Act, Public Lands Act, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, Fisheries Act , Canadian Navigable Waters Act and Municipal Government Act.
Current membership with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB), or other professional designations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in environmental or natural sciences
Minimum 8 years of relevant environmental experience
Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
