Classification Description

Repairs and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior) or Lead. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. May be required to perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. May be required to perform crash recovery duties. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

Specialty Qualifications

Knowledge . Knowledge of the principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory. Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures and the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory. Education. Completion of high school with courses in mathematics is desirable. Experience. Qualification as Aircraft Helper is mandatory.

Special Certifications and Qualifications required for position

Experience and or working knowledge of performing F-15 and/or F-16 aircraft washes. Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
