The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties under the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) ensuring civilian government employees are paid correctly. Responsibilities Receives and examines complex payroll authorization documents (e.g., leave authorization form, saving bonds and allotments, employee organization deductions, etc.) Audits pay and leave accounts to identify and correct delinquent and/or erroneous personnel actions or time keeping errors. Provides customer service in person or by telephone and completes correspondence (e.g, answers written inquiries, prepares letters to obtain missing information. Performs miscellaneous duties in support of the payroll function. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience possessing the ability to review time and attendance actions, utilizes the on-line DCPS, ensure civilian personnel are paid accurately and on time, and Audits automated listings for accuracy of changes made to records. . NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. Skill in performing arithmetic computations common to a payroll function. Ability to compile, research. reconcile, and record financial data, analyze payroll records and reports, and take corrective action. Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to operate a calculator. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
