Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC brake press, setting up machines autonomously, and performing sheet metal bending and rolling. You will work on a variety of projects, ensuring precision and quality in all tasks.
Responsibilities
Operate CNC brake press
Set up and run machines autonomously
Perform sheet metal bending and rolling
Set up and run shear, CNC Turret Punch Press, Punch Press, Press Brake, Spotwelder, Power Roller, Resistance Seam Welder, and Expander
Fabricate parts to dimensional tolerances as required by engineering drawings
Check all operations from material gauge and type through shearing, punching, or forming
Work independently and with others to develop guidelines for the production of sheet metal assemblies
Figure shear size and flat pattern layout using height gauges and other precision instruments from engineering drawings
Be willing to work at assigned jobs in or outside the sheet metal department
Essential Skills
Experience in sheet metal fabrication
Proficiency with CNC press brake
Skills in sheet metal bending, rolling, and planishing
Knowledge of roll form, bump form, resistance welding, and plasma cutting
Experience with stamping press and brake press machinery such as Durma, Wysong, Amada, and Cincinnati
Ability to set up and operate various machinery including shear, CNC Turret Punch Press, Punch Press, Press Brake, Spotwelder, Power Roller, and Resistance Seam Welder
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in aerospace sheet metal fabrication
Ability to figure shear size and flat pattern layout using height gauges and other precision instruments
Capability to fabricate parts to dimensional tolerances as specified in engineering drawings
Willingness to work at different job assignments within the sheet metal department

Work Environment
Jobs can be repetitive, making pieces in bunches of 20-30, with approximately 2-3 different setups daily (this can fluctuate). The work schedule includes 1st shift: Monday – Thursday 6AM – 4:30PM, and 2nd shift: 4PM – 2:30AM. The role requires operating various machinery and fabricating parts to precise specifications as outlined in engineering drawings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $37.50
