Clean Harbors Engineering Internship in El Dorado, Arkansas

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our team in EL Dorado, AR. Responsibilities included but not limited to: 50% document control-data analysis, 25% Project Management assistance, 25% in the field reviewing and validating schematics and accuracy in all documents.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the Environmental-Industrial Waste Management Industry, Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, and the mechanical integrity program.

Wage: $25hr

Housing: Not provided. Prefer candidates to live in a commutable distance from EL Dorado, AR

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Mechanical Integrity Program

  • Update Process Drawings, including P&IDs and piping ISOs, using CAD software

  • Learn about corrosion mechanisms and participate in corrosion monitoring and mitigation activities

  • Gain exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, including the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process, Management of Change (MOCs), Operating Procedures, Incident Investigation, and other elements of PSM

  • Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving

  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including the pillars of Process Safety Management (PSM)

What does it take to work at Clean Harbors Company?

  • Enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor Engineering Program (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Industrial) preferred

  • Proficiency in CAD or similar software for updating and modifying engineering drawings

  • Knowledge of P&IDs and piping ISOs preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Highly motivated and self-starter with the ability to work independently

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite – Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization written and verballyLift to 50lbs, climb ladders, stoop, bend, stand for prolonged periods, exposed to various weather conditions and work at heights
