Job Description
Master Fibers, Inc. a Recycling Company located in Pharr, TX is seeking for an Assistant Maintenance. The Assistant Maintenance will work directly under the Production Supervisor. The candidate will perform manual labor and all aspects involved with preventive maintenance. Work may include install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, welding, painting, plumbing, and low voltage electrical systems while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Employee typically performs a variety of duties to include assistance in the production as necessary. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs on all mechanical assets impacting the operation of the facility, physical structure, and exterior grounds under the instruction and close supervision of the Production Supervisor.
- At automated sites, perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, push buttons and the associated testing equipment under the instruction and close supervision of the Production Supervisor.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on material handling equipment per manufacturer and company guidelines to ensure continual and safe operation under the instruction and close supervision of the Production Supervisor
- Perform routine maintenance on company vehicles, equipment, trailers, and maintain good condition.
- Perform set up and clean up tasks as required including housekeeping.
- Perform general maintenance in all buildings.
- Electrical: includes the repair, replacement or installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights and ceiling fans
- Painting: includes minor touch-ups following damage repair and new coats of paint applied to plant walls.
- Grounds keeping: includes pulling weeds, trimming and pruning trees and shrubs.
- Operate power tools, cutting torch and other welding apparatus to cut or join metal parts
- Utilize onsite motorized lift and rental equipment as needed while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience as Maintenance person.
- Must be Bilingual English/Spanish
- Some trade school or related field experience.
- Job requires a current, valid Texas driver's license.
- Must be able to work under pressure and make decisions in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Must have the ability to concentrate, communicate effectively (verbal and written), interpret, reason, read, compute, instruct and maintain emotional control under stress; ability to handle several projects at the same time with frequent interruptions.
- Basic Computer knowledge
- Must be able to meet deadlines and companys goals and objectives
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work regularly under environmental feature is outside in the yard
- Physical demands available upon request.
- This is a safety sensitive position subject to drug and alcohol testing
- This position requires the Trades Helper Supervisor be able to follow all regulations required by state law.
