SNAPP TOOL & DIE INC CNC Operator, Programmer Set-up in EL PASO, Texas
Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience or education in operating CNC machines, including setting up, programming and operating, and familiarity with master CAM software is required for this position.
Education:High school diploma or equivalent is required per policy
Language: No restrictions (All English, all Spanish or both) is required to communicate with clients and staff.
Driver's License: Standard Class C License is required to operate company vehicles and complete assigned job tasks.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and cutting tools
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Ability to work with a variety of metals and to use precision measuring tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers)
Familiarity with G/M code, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting
Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to operate manual machine tools (i.e. lathe, mill) is a plus.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement is a plus.
Able to independently run and set up parts in a CNC Mill and Lathe
Read and understand technical Drawings and Blueprints.
Understanding and ability to apply advanced GDandT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
Duties
Machinist and/or programmer/operator must be able to independently run and set up a CNC machine and work within strict safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Understand and read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Independently runs and sets up parts on multiple CNC machines (Lathe and Mills).
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, and lathes.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
Set up and operate the machine on a trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings.
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
Develop specifications from a general description and draw a sketch of the part or product to be fabricated.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Shift:Full-time, we may work with you for part-time
- 8-12-hour shifts
Day Shifts
Monday to Friday, Saturday as needed.
