Position Description:
Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.

Major/Essential Functions:
Manage student reports on misconduct, Title IX, and Clery Act, initiating case creation and directing incidents appropriately.
Revision, editing, and proofreading of the Student Handbook.
Oversee and manage budgetary activities, actively tracking and reporting expenditures.
Act as a fund manager for the Office of Student Affairs.
Prepare the annual budget for the Office of Student Affairs.
Collaborates with stakeholders to meet Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) requirements, participating in panel interviews during on-site visits.
Manage HSDM student organizations, ensuring adherence to guidelines.
Assist the Associate Dean with special projects and management tasks.
Manages payment processes for peer mentor employees through EOPS.
Directly supervises the Assistant Director and the Academic Administrative Coordinator, with their duties, including leave approvals and annual evaluations. Also supervises peer mentor employees, providing guidance and ensuring program sustainability.
Monitors student progress and collaborates with the TTUHSC El Paso Office of Student Services and Student Engagement to ensure adherence to institutional policies
Manages communications and IT troubleshooting within the Office of Student Affairs.
Organizes new student orientations, welcome events, Townhall meetings, and significant ceremonies like the White Coat Ceremony, Awards Banquet and Commencement.
Responsible for maintaining the Associate Dean’s calendar and events.
Maintains and updates files on all dental students and ensures the accuracy of academic records in collaboration with the Office of Academic Affairs.
Maintain accurate academic records and manage student enrollment and health insurance requirements.
Act as a liaison and advocate for students, facilitating effective communication between faculty and students.
Participates in staff development conferences.
Serve as the Associate Dean proxy when they are unavailable.
Monitors student absences in Maxient and ensures proper notifications are sent.
Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.
Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
