Your role and responsibilities

The IBM Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us from Guadalajara, MX In this role, you will help build, package, and support tools and automation related to IBM Storage. You’ll work as part of a fast-paced, highly experienced, and exciting engineering team distributed across the globe. You’ll participate in a vibrant open source culture. In addition, you’ll help promote quality and innovation in the IBM Storage team. More experienced applicants will have the opportunity to contribute code upstream and contribute to projects related to continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and package building automation.

Primary job responsibilities

• Participate on a team focused on delivering packages and containers for a large scale software product; learn and understand the technologies involved

• Complete tasks within designated timelines

• Call attention to things that are not delivered

• Coordinate with team leads, program managers, and other engineers to deliver product builds on time

• Work with upstream communities

• Take on new responsibilities as directed by your management chain

Required technical and professional expertise

• Required Professional and Technical Expertise :

• Experience with continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD)

• Good understanding of Linux operating system

• Familiarity with containers technology

• Ability to learn new programming languages Solid written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise :

• Python programming experience

• Linux software packaging Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift development for public cloud services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Compute

• Engine (GCE, or Microsoft Azure)
