Job Description

We are seeking a skilled assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform assembly activities using various shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. This role involves working from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions, both written and oral. You will be expected to maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies and contribute positively to the teamwork environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers to obtain proper build requirements.

• Work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions, both written and oral.

• Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies using torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, and gauging.

• Positively contribute to the teamwork environment in terms of productivity, initiative, cooperation, data collection, and attitude.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in assembly techniques.

• Experience with hand tools and power tools.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Mechanical and electrical assembly skills.

• Familiarity with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Vocational degree/certification in a related field of study.

• Experience in the assembly of high precision automated machinery.

• Basic knowledge of fabrication methods.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High degree of mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to work well in a team setting and effectively multi-task on simultaneous projects.

• Capability to work independently and stay task-oriented.

• Adaptability to work in a fast-paced work environment with fixed project deadlines.

Work Environment

You will be working in a brand-new facility with a small production setup, typically managing 2-3 projects simultaneously.

This is a Contract position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
