Crane Aerospace & Electronics has an exciting opportunity to join our Fluid Management Group as a Production Test Trainee at our Elyria, OH location.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform all operations necessary for the testing of the product.

  • Perform commercial test including set-up and run test equipment on various pumps, valves, motors, etc. per test procedures.

  • Work with Engineering on the set-up of new production pumps and assist as assigned on testing of development units.

  • Enter necessary data into electronic measuring equipment.

  • Make hoses as necessary.

  • Advise supervision of any measuring equipment in need of calibration

  • Perform minor deburrs work as required.

  • Clean and move parts as necessary.

  • Pass an annual eye exam.

  • Responsible for product verification and process control including using measuring devices.

  • Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes.

  • Rotate to different workstations within the cell.

  • Perform required rework, secondary operations, routine maintenance per Appendix A, and appropriate safety checks in the cell.

  • Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures.

  • Inspect work and verify that product meets all appropriate standards at each operational step in the cell.

  • Complete all required paperwork.

  • Ensure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked before movement.

  • Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required.

  • Complete documentation including but not limited to operator inspection records, job routers, NCR’s, reject tags, move tickets, and stock tickets.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor. Utilize the computer to access various databases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma; Prior test experience preferred.

  • Must have basic reading and writing skills

  • Requires basic math skills to make necessary calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and percentages.

  • Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, detail sheets, test procedures, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions; Adequate mechanical aptitude.

  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

  • Requires prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, and stretching;

  • Requires lifting parts, fixtures, and containers up to 50 pounds up to a height of 3 feet;

  • Must be able to work with assorted hand tools in close quarters and awkward positions with firm grip;

  • Must be able to operate manual arbor press with pulling force up to 200 pounds;

  • Requires lifting parts and fixtures weighing up to 70 pounds and carry load 3 feet.

  • Manufacturing shop floor environment; Greasy, oil environment; High noise levels in some test conditions;

  • Paint, solvent, adhesive vapors, oil mist; High temperature equipment, piping, and ovens;

  • May be required to occasionally wear half face piece respirator.

Hourly range: $31.06. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
