Amphenol Interconnect Products Quality & EHS Director in Endicott, New York

We are currently seeking a Quality & EHS Director to join our team. This person will report into the General Manager and be responsible for driving the thinking, program development, and culture around quality and safety management. To do this, we need a person with practical hands on experience in field and production work, the capability to lead high impact program implementation, and the interpersonal skills to motivate behavioral changes. Supervisory Responsibility: Directs and oversees the quality departments and supervisory staff Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain quality planning for components and products, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, TS 16949, RBA, and other relevant standards. Lead and promote continuous improvement and risk management programs, including FMEA, CAPA, RCCA, 8D, and Fish-Bone, fostering a world-class quality and safety culture. Adopt lean manufacturing principles and provide technical support for process control techniques and quality methodologies, assisting Ops Managers with 6S methodology and Kaizen events. Develop and conduct training on safety and quality programs, initiatives, and awareness, while providing ongoing training and development opportunities for employees. Manage and report quality performance indices, including process capabilities, cost of quality, and outgoing quality levels, while using data analytics to develop KPIs for process improvements. Lead investigations of customer complaints and concerns, implementing solutions with internal functions, suppliers, and other company sites, and standardize supplier evaluation processes through regular audits. Perform regular and routine auditing to ensure compliance with the quality management system and processes, while maintaining current and accessible Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality documents. Analyze trends, identify and build action plans to improve quality and safety initiatives, and present recommendations to leadership, ensuring timely communication of quality issues and corrective actions. Develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality, setting targets with quality managers/leaders to enhance product quality. Develop, manage, and oversee site-specific safety programs in the USA, Mexico, and China, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations (statutory requirements) and company standards. Coordinate and conduct EHSS training programs, promoting a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment across North America and China. Implement and monitor environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and sustainable packaging, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in all regions. Qualification and Skills: Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial management, safety, or quality-related discipline from an accredited college/university. Minimum three (3) years of leadership in field, production, or other relevant area of experience, in connector/electronics manufacturing (not required, desired). Familiarity with Quality Management Systems standards and methodologies; Six Sigma background/skillset is a positive. Ability to effectively communicate, build relationships across levels and functions, and influence at all levels of an organization. A global leader that champions change, enlists the support of others, and handles conflict in a constructive way. Ability to manage, lead, and coordinate multiple projects at once. Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Requires good written and spoken English; Spanish or Mandarin writing or speaking a strong positive. Frequency of travel will be based on business needs. In-depth knowledge of EHSS regulations and standards, including environmental sustainability practices and compliance requirements, in the USA, Mexico, and China. Experience developing and implementing site-specific safety programs and coordinating EHSS training initiatives across North America and China. Ability to identify and manage environmental risks, develop sustainability initiatives, and ensure adherence to statutory requirements in various regions.
