Responsibilities: As the Land Technician, your responsibilities include the following:

  • Work closely with a team of Aquatic Land Managers to support their role in managing Aquatic Land Use Authorization contracts.
  • Assist Land Managers in tracking compliance with DNR contracts using various contract management software applications.
  • Track financial accounts, and billings, notify business partners of delinquent accounts, and work with internal staff and external parties to reconcile accounts.
  • Ensure receipt of rent, insurance, and any security required in contracts.
  • Receive and distribute mail to recipients in the District, and assist in sending notices and other general correspondence to business partners.
  • Use GIS to create vicinity maps and research land ownership inquiries.
  • Create, post, and manage public notices on the external DNR website.
  • Complete file audits of both physical and electronic files.
  • Receive, track, and review mooring buoy application materials and complete mooring buoy registrations.
  • Become a licensed notary and coordinate signatures for contracts using DocuSign.
  • Answer questions from the public regarding the use of state-owned aquatic lands (SOAL).

*Required Qualifications: *

- - Associate degree AND two years of work experience in natural resource management, real estate, forestry, science, engineering, land use or environmental planning, business, or other relevant field; OR a combination of education and/or equivalent experience. - Experience with managing records and files. - Experience with understanding, interpreting, or enforcing contract terms. - Experience working within a team. - Experience interpreting laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the management of aquatic land. - Proficient at using computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and GIS. - Proficient at speaking, writing, and reporting clearly and effectively. - Team Building -- You inspire and create an environment that allows motivation to thrive, and guides others toward goal accomplishments.
