CounterTek, Inc. Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate in Ephrata, Pennsylvania

CounterTek Inc is a locally-owned small business in Ephrata.  We manufacture and deliver custom-made countertops to our customers in the kitchen and bath industry.  We are looking for a friendly, courteous, and responsible delivery driver to represent our company.  We deliver to customers within a 125 mile radius of Ephrata.  

Hours: Monday-Friday  6am-3pm

The hours may vary depending on the delivery schedule but our drivers typically get 4-7 hours of OT each week.  

This opportunity will begin in our warehouse as you learn the ins and outs of the position.  Forklift experience is a plus but we will train the right person.  At first, you will be a fill-in delivery driver as needed, with that aspect of the position expanding when our current driver retires.

This position is open to candidates over the age of 21 with a safe driving record.  We ask that you have at least 1 year of box truck delivery experience.  No CDL needed.  A DOT medical exam and substance abuse screening is required.

Pay rate: $20/hr

Job Title: Delivery Driver/Warehouse

Reports to VP of Operations

Summary:  Transfer counter tops from area of production to businesses and personal homes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties that may be assigned.

 

Safety Inspection of the truck assigned: check tires, fluids, lights, evidence of any leaks on ground beneath vehicle, brakes, etc.  All issues should be reported to the Plant Manager or written on the Vehicle Maintenance Request list above the timecards, if the issue does not require immediate attention.  

Drive safely to their destination and deliver items to different addresses and through different routes within deadlines. 

Analyze delivery addresses and determine appropriate routes to most efficiently complete all stops.

Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle. Keep the vehicle clean outside and inside.  

Maintain driving log if applicable, and complete daily paperwork.

Notify customer service if an issue should arise so that it can be resolved quickly. Help to provide exceptional service by passing on information regarding customer concerns, quality issues, potential delays in delivery timeframes. 

Obtain signed packing slip from each customer and collect payments from COD customers.

Follow DOT regulations and safety standards. Adhere to company operating policies and procedures.

Receive incoming products from vendors and ensure precision, quantity, and quality. Organize storage of incoming products to ensure readiness for fabrication/manufacturing.

Ensure the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment and be a proactive liaison with other departments as necessary.

Maintain organization, cleanliness and accessibility of all dock and warehouse areas.

Aid other departments, when possible, in packaging, transportation, and staging of materials.

Adhere to and enforce all health and safety procedures. Safely operate forklift.

The position requires attention to the changing traffic patterns and road hazards.  It requires defensive driving.  Delivery drivers are behind the wheel of a truck for long periods of time in all kinds of weather.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to drive, walk, bend, lift, and carry.
