Westinghouse Electric Company Sr. Nuclear Training Program Developer in Etna, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 21239 General Job Function: The Sr. Nuclear Training Program Developer - eVinci Operation & Training will provide direct support to the Training Program Lead and interface internally with Human Factors Engineering (HFE), Operations Procedures, Simulator, Testing, and Startup programs and cross-functionally with systems engineering subject matter experts with the primary objective to develop an accreditable, comprehensive eVinci advanced microreactor operations training program in accordance with the systematic approach to training (SAT), and in alignment with regulatory, design, and contractual requirements. This role supports development and implementation of plans, procedures, training content (classroom and/or WBT), eVinci Simulator training, test performance schedule, and training evaluations processes that properly considers and complies with all applicable regulatory and general nuclear industry standards and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority): Collaborate directly with internal, cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team of experts responsible for development, design, and implementation of the eVinci microreactor operations program, including HFE, Simulator, and all applicable design-based content for eVinci testing and commercial startup, normal operation, maintenance, and off-normal conditions plans, procedures, and training. Support development of eVinci advanced microreactor instructor qualifications, as needed, including Classroom Instructor, Simulator Instructor, etc. Support development, design, modification, review, and implementation of lesson plans to ensure accuracy and relevancy. Utilize adult learning theory and creative, state-of-the-art, industry-leading techniques to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and trainee engagement and incorporating performance evaluation measures to ensure program meets safety, quality, schedule, and fiscal objectives. Serve Operations Training Program Lead as a trusted operations and training program subject-matter expert for development and implementation of plans, procedures, and associated training content, certification as eVinci microreactor operator, and delivery of training as a qualified eVinci microreactor operations instructor. Support scheduling and implementation of initial eVinci microreactor operator training in collaboration with regulatory entities and external project partners Provide eVinci Operations & Training support in research and development (R&D), commercialization, and business development for eVinci microreactor technology.

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies: Education Level (Degree, Area of Study) - Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technically related discipline. Equivalent combination of degree with relevant experience will be considered. Professional Certifications: The following certifications will add value in this role (in order of relevance): Procedure Professional Association (PPA) Nuclear Instructor Certification (e.g., INPO) Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Project Management (PMP) Skills and Competencies: * Nuclear operations background with experience interfacing and collaborating with crossfunctional areas. * Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives and understanding of impact to execution in disciplines including engineering, plans/procedure/training program development and implementation, design acceptance, commercialization, manufacturing, construct on, testing and inspections, maintenance and modifications, and quality program implementation. * Familiar with nuclear industry procedures development in disciplines including engineering, operations, maintenance (e.g., Electrical, I&C, Mechanical), and modifications. * Familiar with the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) for nuclear personnel, including standard industry processes, methodology, and practices. * Strong interpersonal skills, ability to lead and collaborate with team members; ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and ability to make decisions and conduct multiple tasks as assigned with minimal guidance from leaders and mentors. Experience in design, engineering, and research development is a plus. Specifically, experience with modeling & simulation, code development or use, software, I&C or programming is a plus.
