Amentum Electronic Technician III in Fairbanks, Alaska
Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician III to join our team at Eielson, AFB, Alaska . This is an advanced level position that will provide technical support to ground-based electronic systems. Typical duties include working on various types of electronic equipment and related devices through a combination of installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction, and testing. The duties and requirements listed below are not mutually exclusive.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required US Government security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high-voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems
Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data, and test equipment
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition
Manipulate computer keyboards and view and interpret computer displays
Troubleshoot to the component level and make needed repairs
Assist and/or provide occasional work direction to lower-level technicians
Identify and report corrections/improvements to technical data
Identify and report product quality/material deficiencies
Identify and report supply discrepancies
Conduct inventories and maintain accountability, including ancillary and support equipment
Leads inspection requirements and implementing approved configuration changes
Perform equipment status reporting, maintenance data collection and job documentation
Ensure compliance with Amentum’s Quality Control and Safety Programs
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Five (5)+ years of experience and successful completion from an accredited college or technical school in Electronics or equivalent military training.
High school diploma and possess a valid driver’s license and must meet all requirements for assigned vehicles.
Demonstrated expertise in electronic, electromechanical and computer systems and the test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment.
Must be able to demonstrate advanced technical knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and devices, interpret circuit diagrams to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.
Demonstrate knowledge in the use of test instruments such as Oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltage and frequency meters, and computer control equipment and analyzers
Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment
Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power radio frequency devices
Comprehensive knowledge in general electronics
Expert-level troubleshooting capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work across diverse groups of people and at all levels of an organization
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate certification(s)
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Ability to work indoors, outdoors and travel to remote locations
Reside near or be willing to relocate to the vicinity of Fairbanks/Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with threat systems is desired
Ability to read Cyrillic is desired
