Responsibilities Mow lawns and trim shrubs and trees; dig ditches and trenches; and cut heavy trees. Change light bulbs, wash walls, run and maintain power tools and equipment, and maintain and replace blinds. Operate heavy powered equipment such as lawn mowers and hand tools such as shovels, rakes, lawn edging equipment to maintain buildings, grounds, roads and trails. Load and unload trucks: move furniture, equipment, and supplies by hand or with various moving devices (dollies and/or hand trucks). Assist in the maintenance of buildings and grounds. Shovel ice/snow from sidewalks, steps, and curbs throughout the site during winter. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Screen-out Element: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. as evidenced by performing basic laborer duties including operating hand and power tools, making minor repairs and grounds keeping. Physical Demands: Walk moderate distances, stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, stretch, and perform work standing on ladders and scaffolds. Heavy physical exertion is required to lift and move heavy objects, supplies, materials, and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Work Environment: Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Temperatures range from -7 in the winter to 70 in the summer. Work with vibrating heavy equipment and is subjected to strong cleaning solutions as well as dust, dirt, noise, grease, sawdust and exhaust fumes.
