The Griff Network, located in Fallsington, PA is looking for a Full-Time Flexographic Printer Operator General Description :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flexographic Printer Operator to join our printing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires a strong understanding of flexographic printing processes, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to production deadlines and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

 

Press Operation:

Set up and operate flexographic printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules.

Calibrate and adjust press settings, including ink viscosity, plate cylinder pressure, anilox rolls, doctor blades, and web tension, to ensure optimal print quality and consistency.

Mechanical Technicality:

Perform plate mounting and alignment with precision to ensure registration accuracy.

Set up and monitor drying systems and UV curing units to ensure proper ink curing.

Adjust gear ratios, tension controls, and other mechanical systems to handle various substrates, including paper, film, and foil.

Quality Control:

Monitor print runs for consistency, ensuring color accuracy, proper registration, and adherence to customer specifications.

Conduct sample checks during production and troubleshoot issues such as misregistration, uneven ink coverage, or substrate defects.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform preventative maintenance on presses, including lubrication, cleaning, and calibration of mechanical systems.

Diagnose and repair mechanical or technical issues to minimize downtime.

Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve complex mechanical problems effectively.

Ink and Material Management:

Mix and match inks to achieve precise colors using Pantone matching systems.

Handle substrates of varying thicknesses and tensile strengths, ensuring proper alignment and tensioning during the run.

Safety and Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols, including proper lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure the safe operation of machinery.

Comply with OSHA regulations and company standards to maintain a safe work environment.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of production runs, including material usage, press settings, and quality control data.

Report production issues, equipment malfunctions, and suggestions for process improvements to supervisors.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school education in printing or mechanical systems is a plus.

  • Minimum [1-2 years] of experience operating flexographic printing presses.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems within flexographic presses, including gear alignment, tensioning systems, and drying/curing units.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and specifications.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and technical issues during production.

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

    Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and practices.
