The role

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to the Royal Navy Training Design Service. As a Media Developer, you’ll support the Integrated Training Design Service to deliver learning that is blended, active and provides customer delight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all media tasks assigned to you with regards to training transformation. An advocate for the creation of media that is not only active and engaging, but also inclusive and learner centric.

  • Supporting the Media team in the production of interactive, innovative and engaging media content, adhering to the Courseware and Media production process.

  • Developing innovative and engaging media content utilising industry-standard software.

  • Building strong stakeholder relationships with subject matter experts to positively contribute towards training transformation.

  • Working collaboratively with customers and colleagues to create fit for purpose e-Learning content through storyboard development, adhering to project deadlines, resources and budget.

  • Identify and implement best practice across multimedia outputs.

  • Maintain and adhere to asset management of electronic files, admin systems and document management control.

  • Responsible for the continuous professional development of yourself.

  • Adhering to the Quality Assurance procedures and standards.

  • Ensure compliance with MoD & Raytheon (Team Fisher) policies, regulations, and procedures.

  • Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and customers.

  • Follow security standards and system requirements to protect data and ensure smooth operations.

  • Any other duties required to support the Integrated Training Design Service.

  • Occasional travel to other customer sites may be required.

Essential:

The Media Developer will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a passion for training transformation and continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrate previous experience of Rapid Authoring tools, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office based software on a PC based system.

  • Demonstrate previous experience in the delivery of eLearning Media projects.

  • Demonstrate experience of creating media content and technology-based learning solutions.

  • Demonstrate excellent IT skills with the ability to use in-house systems as well as a wide range of platforms including MS office and use of Sharepoint.

  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn, collaborate, communicate, demonstrate best practice within the business, customers and the wider team.

  • Demonstrate attention to detail, a passion for quality, be able to plan, multitask, deliver on time and work independently.

  • Adopt a flexible approach to the role and be able to adapt to evolving priorities.

  • Navigate obstacles positively while effectively managing responsibilities.

  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn, collaborate, and demonstrate best practices within the business and customers.

Desirable:

Should have some experience of:

  • Experience using Moodle.

  • 3D modelling software Blender/3DS Max or equivalent

  • Articulate Storyline.

  • Moodle H5P plugin.

  • Creation of animation sequences exploiting effective asset management and workflow.

  • AGILE methodology and working practice.

  • ADDIE model and Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).

  • Programme management tools and applications.

  • Knowledge of UK Ministry Defence procedures and policies.

  • Contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems. 

  • Understanding of Quality Assurance processes.

    Please note – this role requires travel to Portsmouth 3 days a fortnight.
