Northern Tool, a Star Cutter Company, is a 4th generation family owned, globally recognized, manufacturer of custom round tools and hobs. We are seeking a Grinder / Machine Operator to join our production team at our Farmington Hills location. This individual will work within our production team operating machinery to meet quality standards and delivery schedules.

Job Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC Machines, including Grinding and Inspection Machines
• Follow instructions to ensure precision tolerances.
• Understand tool drawing specifications, materials, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters ensure geometric dimensions and tolerance.
• Inspects and validates dimension of tools for conformance to specifications using measure instruments-templates, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauge blocks.
• Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems, assist engineering department and sub-contractors in qualifying new/changes to machines.
• Follow safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to attend and enroll in required College courses.
• Commitment to attendance- arriving to work on time and working your scheduled shifts.
• A Team Player- helping when needed and being respectful towards others.
• Giving you best effort- we don't expect you to know everything but always try your best and ask questions.
