Job Description

The Contracts Analyst OR Contracts Analyst, Intermediate positions are responsible for reviewing project cost proposals and drafting contracts in compliance with state and federal laws, university policies, and the Arizona Board of Regents guidelines. These roles will support the Planning, Design & Construction department by ensuring contracts and proposals meet necessary legal and regulatory standards

Contracts Analyst

Contract Management - 60%

  • Assists with the interpretation of contract provisions, stipulations, obligations, and liabilities.
  • Assists with monitoring and reporting on contractor performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Helps assess contractor service value and product/service reliability relative to cost.
  • Drafts contracts using established templates.

Compliance Verification - 20%

  • Reviews basic contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance with Board of Regents, University policy and federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Receives requests, updates records, initiates paperwork; may assist with follow-up on contract changes; maintains basic contract files and prepares documents for contract renewal or cancellation.

Correspondence - 10%

  • Corresponds with contractors and departmental representatives regarding contract issues, status or negotiation.

Reporting - 5%

  • Prepares basic reports as required for audit and administrative purposes.

Other - 5%

  • Other duties as assigned including assisting with active construction procurements.

Minimum Qualifications

Contracts Analyst

  • High school diploma.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Contracts Analyst, Intermediate

  • Associates or undergraduate bachelor\'s degree.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Contracts Analyst

  • Basic knowledge of laws, contract analysis, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Contracts Analyst, Intermediate

  • Advanced knowledge of laws, detailed contract analysis, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
