Collaborate with operations department to assess near- and long-term building automation network capacity needs. Perform BMS (Building Management Systems) server and networking security audits, system database backups and system recovery. Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures for network administration, usage and disaster recovery. Design and deploy LANs, WANs, and wireless network, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs and other networking hardware. Conduct research on networking products, services, BMS communication protocols. Oversee new and existing virtual machine, remote applications server, setting up of SMTP based networking, BBMD networks. Monitor BMS network performance and troubleshoot network, communication issues as needed. Manage building automation servers including database, e-mail alert setups, and backup/redundant servers and their associated operating systems and servers. Maintain, configure and maintain firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols and email security.
