Physician Assistant - Neurology

Locations: Queens, NY

FlexStaff is partnering with leading hospitals in Queens, NY to directly hire Physician Assistants for their esteemed Neurology Departments. This is an exceptional opportunity for career growth and professional development.

The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care for neurology patients. You will perform a variety of essential functions, including patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and outcome evaluation. The ideal candidate will also actively participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to ongoing research projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed neurological patient assessments, including neurological exams and obtaining comprehensive medical histories.

  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's Disease, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.

  • Perform Neurological procedures.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Provide patient education and counseling to ensure understanding of diagnoses, treatments and prognosis.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Interpret laboratory and test results.

  • Upon discharge, complete discharge summaries, prescribe medications and make any necessary referrals.

  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, required.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

  • Current NY State Physician Assistant license

  • Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on certification of Physician Assistants).

  • Neurology experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply

  • Current BLS certification

  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 -$180,000 per year.
