Community Health Systems Special Procedures Technologist Cath Lab in FOLEY, Alabama
The Special Procedure Technologist provides services in the Cath Lab by scrubbing cases, operating radiology equipment, and assisting the physician and RN in providing care to patients in potentially critical situations. Must have critical thinking skills and be able to function in a fast paced critical care environment. Must be knowledgeable of vascular anatomy, sterile technique, intervention, instrumentation, and equipment as it relates to Cath Lab procedures. Flexibility, cooperation, and resourcefulness in dealing with coworkers, physicians, patients, and families are required.
Schedule: Full-Time, 4/10 hour days, call required within a 30-min response time
Requirements:
Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology and is registered in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Associate Degree preferred.
One (1) - five (5) years in Interventional Cath Lab or Special Procedures preferred.
Must maintain current certification/competencies. BLS required.
Call required, within a 30-min response time.
Responsibilities:
Provides clinical and technical assistance for the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiovascular and peripheral systems.
Circulates during invasive procedures, which includes the duties of patient education, treating patients under physician/ RN Team Leader’s direction, and assisting the scrub technologist and Physician.
Exhibits knowledge of sterile technique and of supplies and equipment used.
Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner to help in the diagnosis or treatment of human disorders.
