U.S. Army Sustainment Command Supervisory Transportation Specialist in Fort Campbell, Kentucky

About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, supervise, and perform Contracting Officer’s Representative oversight over all activities associated with Transportation Motor Pool operations, personnel, supplies, and equipment for supported organizations and units. Approve the terms and conditions of transportation and maintenance contracts/agreements to ensure contractor and government performance are in compliance. Direct the Vehicle Operations and Contract Maintenance Branch staff in performing quality assurance evaluations, including monitoring and reporting of contractor performance for transportation and maintenance related contracted services. Formulate policies, analyze, and recommend new methods of application or changes to existing policies; and develop transportation operations principles, concepts, techniques, and procedures and participate in related studies. Implement transportation management and functional system operating standards for the command to ensure maximum utilization of resources and compliance with higher headquarters policies and directives. Plan and assign work to subordinates determining work schedules and priorities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contracting Support Managing Human Resources Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Transportation Policy and Regulation Transportation Traffic Management and Distribution Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. This position is not eligible for regular and recurring telework. This position is eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework". Situational telework is sometimes also referred to as episodic, intermittent, unscheduled, or ad-hoc telework. Situational telework is approved on a case-by-case basis, where the hours worked were not part of a previously approved, ongoing, and regular telework schedule.
