About the Position: This position is with the U.S. ARMY SUSTAINMENT COMMAND, 406TH ARMY FIELD SUPPORT BRIGADE, LOG READINESS CTR, FT DRUM. This is a Planned Management Action open to Current Civilian Employees of the Organization. See Additional Information below for more specific information. Responsibilities Performs technical work required to accept, process, schedule, track, complete, and deliver various types of commodity equipment owned by customer units and activities. Assures that equipment is properly accepted. Signs receipt and notes missing components. Applies working knowledge of equipment maintenance practices to check equipment operating conditions against TM or other equipment standards. Schedules, coordinates, and controls work projects performed by commercial sources. Performs Contracting Officer Representative (COR) type checks upon receipt of repaired items from vendor. Maintains records and monitors status of Work Orders through inspection of equipment received for repair or modification. Current Civilian Employees of the Organization Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) utilizing automated systems for operation and to receive and process equipment; (2) assisting with submitting, processing, and tracking maintenance job order requests; (3) providing status updates to customers on job orders. NOTE: For most one-grade interval occupational series, the qualification standard calls for at least 1 year of specialized experience. Sometimes however, there is no position in the normal line of progression in an organization that is one grade lower than the position being filled. In such instances, 1 year of specialized experience at the second lower level (GS-05) is creditable for in-service applicants. However, for outside applicants (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service), 1 year of specialize experience equivalent to at least the next lower level is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Manages and Organizes Information Reasoning (Clerical/Technical) Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
