Summary About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Operations Research Analyst at The Research & Analysis Center (TRAC) - Fort Gregg-Adams. DB-04 pay band includes GS-14 Step 1 to GS-15 Step 10. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Operations Research Analyst, you will perform duties to include, but not limited to the following: Serves as a senior operations research analyst and Division Chief, supervising a professional staff of military and civilian operations research analysts and other technical and support personnel. Performs the daily supervision of division personnel, to include assignment of work, reviewing and accepting their products, identifying training requirements, establishing performance objectives and performing evaluations. Applies professional knowledge and broad experience in operations research and systems analysis (ORSA) to the study and analysis of force structure, doctrine, materiel, and training or to the development of methodologies, models and analytic tools. Participates in and oversees the preparation of the final study/project report and assures that any analysis or methodology appendices prepared elsewhere are integrated into that document. Reviews studies/projects for analytical soundness and consistency and prepares comments and recommendations in accordance with TRAC guidance and policy for production and quality oversight. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research or related field degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 hours must be in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, you must also meet the specialized experience requirements below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves 1) executing complex and major analytical studies, 2) developing and preparing high quality and comprehensive analytical reports, 3) knowledge of combat and support systems, operational and sustainment concepts and 4) directing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, allocating and managing project resources, and preparing and briefing final results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DB-03/GS-13).
