Zions Capital Markets is seeking a Real Estate Capital Markets Managing Director - Loan Originator to join our team and be a member of the CMBS lending group within the Real Estate Capital Markets (“RECM”) division with additional growth opportunities presented as RECM product offerings are expanded. This position will sit in Charlotte, NC or Fort Lauderdale, FL. Other locations maybe be considered.
This role is responsible for originating CMBS loans, as well as establishing a market presence and participating in related business development activities.
Essential Functions:
Solicit and/or maintain a wide array of contacts to develop a pipeline of CMBS financing opportunities.
Obtain and analyze pertinent financial, borrower and market data to screen potential loan candidates with an awareness of RECM objectives.
Apply CRE credit and structuring experience from past CMBS lending roles, including familiarity with CMBS specific underwriting, pricing, b-piece buying methodology and rating agency analysis.
Supervise a deal team from initial deal sourcing through loan closing and securitization to ensure seamless deal execution.
Negotiate loan terms with borrowers and collaborate with credit/contract finance, underwriters and legal counsel through application, due diligence, approval, closing and securitization.
Monitor market conditions, issuance trends, and structuring details of comparable transactions.
Domestic travel is required.

Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
10+ years of relevant experience in CRE lending, banking, investing, or capital markets functions
5+ years of specific CMBS origination experience
In-depth knowledge of real estate capital markets, complex credit structures, and credit analysis.
Requires excellent customer service, relationship, organizational, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Excellent evaluation, problem resolution and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
